Toasted Nativity

I smelled toast. Since the older children are allowed to use the toaster, there was no reason to panic. Eva was identified as the toaster, and I asked if she could make me a toasted cheese sandwich. She said, "No." When I asked why, she explained that she was making a toasted nativity for her, Nolan, and Broden for lunch. I asked her to call me when she was finished, and she promised to sweep the floor when she was done.

After some time passed, the meal was revealed. For each of them, there was a star, "the star of Bethlehem," an angel, "to stand for Mary and Joseph," and a Gingerbread man, "as baby Jesus." Each piece with butter.

As they munched on Eva's creation, Broden cried when he was finished first. Eva offered him her star, and said, "I used six pieces of bread to make everything." Not sure what to say, I simply nodded and thanked her for making a fun lunch. I can't wait to see how the next loaf of bread is transformed.
