Today I gathered masses of paperwork and took Carly to the DMV. She passed the eye test (thanks to new contacts 10 days ago) and the written exam (thanks to her online course). After help from Cynthia, the super nice DMV worker, explaining to Carly that we live in a "single occupancy residence," giving a dollar to the teen girl at the next line who was short a dollar and was asking to call her mom and wait for a dollar to arrive, and grabbing Carly's arm to prevent signing in blue ink instead of black ink (Cynthia thanked me for that save), we made it through the process. She is now officially learning how to drive (AND she is legal to drive on the streets of Texas as long as I am there with her). I am still in shock, but I am super proud of her. Wow!
