Mother's Day 2013!

On the Lake!
So often in these days, our live become swallowed up by technology.  Don't get me wrong, I love my TV, computer, and smart phone, but I often feel like these gadgets keep us trapped.  My goal for Mother's Day was to get us away from the stuff.  This is the one day that I get to choose with no compromise or complaints.  After church, we headed home to change clothes, Eva made me a sandwich with pickles and extra mustard, and then we took the paddle boards to the lake.  Michael was able to stand up with ease (we were impressed) and saved another family's kid from drowning, and Bro only got the shivers a few times.

We finished by stopping for chicken, and ended up meeting a sweet older woman, Cynthia, who was drawing caricatures for anyone who walked in to eat chicken.  She was almost completed deaf, and she told us that she just liked to meet people.  She drew a picture of Michael in the bathtub and told him, "I don't draw muscles, just lots of bumps."  You never know where a day will lead!

Happy Mother's Day!
